Manuel Noriega, the infamous Panamanian dictator who was taken out of power and arrested on multiple charges from drug trafficking to racketeering, is filing a lawsuit against the makers of the highly popular shoot em up video game Black Ops II. The former tyrannical dictator, who is currently serving time in a Panamian prison for human rights violations, is charging the gaming giant with unjust enrichment, unfair business practices and violation of common-law publicity rights. Strangely enough, he is not suing for libel.
According to the lawsuit: “(The) plaintiff was portrayed as an antagonist and portrayed as the culprit of numerous fictional heinous crimes.”
As president of Panama, Noriega had developed a relationship with the CIA, which led to accusations of the CIA turning a blind eye to the despots dealings with infamous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar and his Medellin cartel.
The video game has generated more than $1Billion in its first two weeks of sales in November 2012.
